1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using The Star People app or website ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our contact email is support@thestarpeople.app.
2. Description of Service
The Star People provides astrological chart calculation and interpretation (Western, Vedic, Chinese, Human Design), AI-powered conversational readings via the Astral Mirror, dream journal and AI dream analysis via the Dream Portal, compatibility readings, daily card and rune pulls, and cosmic weather information.
All astrological and AI-generated content is provided for entertainment and personal reflection purposes only. The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and all activity under your account. Provide accurate information, notify us of any unauthorized use, and do not share your account with others.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
Free Tier
The Service offers a free tier with lifetime limits — not monthly resets.
Paid Subscriptions
Dream ($9/mo or $65/yr), Core ($14/mo or $99/yr), and Deep ($34/mo or $229/yr) tiers are available. Subscriptions bill in advance on a recurring basis and automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Free Trials
Where offered, free trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial period. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
Cancellation and Refunds
Cancel anytime through App Store settings, Google Play settings, or by contacting support@thestarpeople.app for web subscriptions. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.
EU and UK users: You may have additional statutory refund rights under applicable consumer protection law, including a right of withdrawal within 14 days of purchase where delivery has not yet commenced. Once you have accessed or used a paid feature, the right of withdrawal may no longer apply. Contact support@thestarpeople.app to exercise these rights.
Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices with at least 30 days advance notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to reverse engineer the app, scrape or systematically collect data, use automated means to access the Service, circumvent usage limits, share or resell access, upload harmful or illegal content, attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, or interfere with the Service's performance.
7. Content You Provide
You retain ownership of content you enter, including dream journal entries and birth data. You grant us a limited license to process and store your content solely to provide the features you use. You represent that you have the right to share any birth data you enter for third parties.
8. AI-Generated Content and Entertainment Disclaimer
All astrological content, AI-generated readings, dream analyses, and chart interpretations are provided for entertainment and personal reflection purposes only. This content is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice, is not guaranteed to be accurate, and should not be relied upon for any decision of consequence.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or medical emergency, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services immediately.
9. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service are owned by or licensed to The Star People and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
10. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with Anthropic, Supabase, RevenueCat, Stripe, Apple, and Google. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE. ASTROLOGICAL AND AI-GENERATED CONTENT IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE STAR PEOPLE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law. EU and UK users retain all rights under applicable mandatory consumer protection laws.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Star People and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any third-party rights.
14. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
Informal Resolution First: Contact us at support@thestarpeople.app and attempt to resolve informally. We will attempt resolution within 30 days.
Binding Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. Both parties waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action.
Exceptions: Either party may seek injunctive relief in court to prevent irreparable harm. You may also file a complaint with a consumer protection agency or data protection authority.
EU and UK users: Nothing in this arbitration clause affects your statutory rights as a consumer under EU or UK law.
Opt-Out: You may opt out of arbitration by emailing support@thestarpeople.app within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms, including your name, email address, and a clear opt-out statement.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account from Settings → Delete Account. Sections 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 16 survive termination.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States. For disputes not subject to arbitration, you consent to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Walton County, Florida.
EU and UK users: You may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence under applicable mandatory consumer protection laws.
17. Force Majeure
We are not liable for failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, pandemic, government action, internet outages, or third-party service failures.
18. Changes to Terms
We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
